How to Adjust the Tightness of Horizontal Sawing Machine Blades
Tightness adjustment of the saw blade is critical when using a horizontal sawmill. Proper saw blade tightness helps improve sawing efficiency and flatness of the saw cut. The following are specific steps for adjusting saw blade tightness:
First, make sure the saw is off to avoid accidents during the adjustment process.
Locate the saw blade tensioner, which is usually located on the side or back of the sawmill. Depending on the model of sawmill, the design of the tensioning device may vary, but it is generally possible to adjust the tension of the saw blade by turning a certain handle or screw.
Adjust the tensioning device slowly with an appropriate tool (such as a screwdriver or wrench) while observing the condition of the saw blade. When the saw blade exhibits moderate tension, stop the adjustment. Note that over-tensioning may cause the saw blade to break, while under-tensioning may affect sawing results.
After the adjustment is completed, restart the saw and make a short test cut to ensure that the blade tension is moderate and the sawing surface is flat.
